Ep 100: Life of a Podcaster

Hey...hi, it's um, been a minute. It's maybe been five years since we hopped on the mic. We were so inspired by Taylor Swift's latest album, Life of a Showgirl, that we wanted to bring back Happy Hour Rewind. We're outta the vault, catching you up on the last five years (promise it's quick!) and touching down on some current pop culture favs. So guys, welcome BACK to Happy Hour Rewind. Cheers!

Caucuses, Soapboxes & Broomsticks

Hold your broomsticks because in this week's episode we are fired up and ready to mention it all! At 11:25 we're talking about the debacle of a caucus in Iowa and what this means for the 2020 election. Then at 18:00 our eye rolls could be heard around the world as the internet was swept up with the dumbest viral challenge #broomstickchallenge. TL;DR: Broomsticks can always stand up straight and NASA don't care! At 22:33 Erika let's loose on wannabe Instagram influencers who feel the need to DRIVE while Insta'ing...lord help us all. Then 33:33 Amie brings up a great point of how do we behave when you're stuck at a party talking to someone who is just straight up rude. We round it out at 40:63 pretty over it when it comes to reality show casting and just ask for a quick little Twitter check when it comes to casting our favorite reality shows. We are here, we're fired up and we're ready to blow!

Is this fish or is this chicken that we’re podcasting?

It's been quite the week in the pop culture world and we are back in the podcast nook with our favorite wines to dish on it all. At 15:27 Amie remembers that we totally forgot about the Women's March this year and wonder if that has any bearing on our feminism. News flash: it doesn't. Then at 21:37 we talk about the latest celeb tell-all from Jessica Simpson, who knew she could write? Then Erika drops a six degree of Kevin Bacon bombshell on Amie that has her beyond excited. At 30:18 the girls share a 'Based on a True Happy Hour' that has them upset as they ponder whether or not to break up with their favorite HH spot. Then at 40:38 we take a minute to mourn the deep loss felt throughout the sports world and the rest of the world with the sudden loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter. Taking it back up the hill at 43:53 the girls go all-in on all things Bravo saying goodbye to an OG, demanding a RHONY trailer and talking all things misogyny on Below Deck. Stay kind, rewind and don't be all uncool!

Don't f*ck with the cast

It's the first show of 2020 and already things are going down! At 13:33 we once again claim that Busy Phillips and her IG BS sucks. Then at 21:14 Amie explains her new fav Netflix documentary and why we must never f*ck with cats. And at 26:44 our favorite segment 'Based on a True Happy Hour' is back with one disgusting experience. At 31:33 we decide that Ricky Gervais is the only good thing about the Golden Globes (Hi Maggie!) and we stan a funny, beer-drinking host. Lastly, at 38:08 we wonder if the Royal Family just changed their FB status to "It's complicated with Harry and Megan"? See you next week at the bar!

2019 Rewind

It's that time of the year where we look back on our favorite shows, the podcasts we listen to and the OMG and WTF moments that we couldn't stop talking about. smells like holiday spirit

IT'S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR!! The holiday season is here and there's no better time to drink and talk shit at a happy hour. First, at 12:15 we are SO excited to see a few podcast tours in 2020 but are wondering if the 'Straight up with Stassi' podcast tour is really even a podcast...question mark? Then at 21:00 Amie kicks off another rendition of 'Based on a True Happy Hour' with a story that has her wondering if she needs to change up her local dive. Then at 25:25 Erika has the weirdest sighting at her recent happy hour, note to self: leave the hairbrush at home when out drinking. At 29:40 the ladies are up in arms over how Hallmark handled their latest pop-culture kerfuffle over a Zola commercial. Finally, at 39:44 Idina Menzel is first on the chopping block to be disinvited from a Happy Hour. It hurts Amie's heart to do this, but it's a must. The Thanksgiving holiday is over and tis' the season...to gossip! This week the tea is hot because baby it is cold outside. At 15:00 the ladies revisit their OG happy hour conversations of yesteryear and discuss all things Jon and Kate plus 8 now that Jon's gag order is over! Then at 26:00 the Bachelor's Carly Wadell and her latest breastfeeding IG story start a spark over what is good for the IG feed and what is actually just curated content. And at 36:20 the ladies wonder if Scott Peterson is actually guilty thanks to the latest deep dive from the True Crime Obsessed Patreon page and begin to wonder if this murder case is the spark that lit Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl. And finally, at 47:55 they discuss whether or not Ellen's latest viral video with Dakota Johnson outs her as a monster, or if we should all strive to just #bekindandrewind!

It's a week of celebration at Happy Hour Rewind as Erika has job news and Amie has another new show that she's totally obsessed with. But at 15:07 Amie is sharing her first solo based on a true happy hour/party when she got side blinded by an MLM! Then at 25:45 the ladies wonder if they are part of the 'back in my day' problem with the younger Gen Z. But at 39:51 they dive into the Bravo of it all discussing everything they missed at Bravo Con and what the future of Bravo TV looks like.
